I’ve decided to start posting some videos of the progress John and I are making on the deuce and a half. This video glosses over the progress we have made so far. Over the coming weeks I’ll be posting more videos showing specific sub-projects, such as setting up the network box, installing a seccondary breaker pannel, charging the battery bank, and other various things.
My 4850×2 was running hotter than I am comfortable with under linux because the fan was set to the lowest speed. After a quick Google search I found a fourm talking about using aticonfig to solve the problem. As it turns out, the command is very simple:
aticonfig –pplib-cmd “set fanspeed 0 100″
where 0 is the card identifier and 100 is the % you want the fan speed to run at.
I’ve set up a page on my server to host video for the Edison High School Marching Band. I’ve set it up so that it has links to Youtube in order to stream content to a web browser and also has links to download the file directly from my server to save to your local computer.
